Data protection declaration

A.    Controller
We are pleased that you have chosen to visit a webpage of Volkswagen AG, Berliner Ring 2, D-38440 Wolfsburg, listed in the Register of Companies of the District Court of Braunschweig under No. HRB 100484 (Volkswagen AG), and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in our company and our products. The services offered by Volkswagen Driving Experience and the data processing required for this purpose are carried out in shared responsibility with D&T DRIVE & TRAINING AG, Ehreshoven 23, 51766 Engelskirchen, listed in the Register of Companies of the District Court of Cologne under No. HRB 87441. We inform you below about the collection, processing and use of your data. These processes are always performed in a manner that is compliant with data protection regulations.

 

B.    General Information
In principle, you can visit the websites of Volkswagen AG without disclosing to us who you are. We will in this case receive only the following protocol data in automated fashion:

  1. An anonymous cookie ID which does not make it possible to infer your IP address,
  2. The operating system you are using, the web browser you are using and the screen resolution settings which you are using,
  3. The date and time of day of your visit,
  4. The websites which you have visited of us and
  5. The website from which you are visiting our website..

Insofar as the following sections contain nothing to the contrary, the data processing is undertaken exclusively by Volkswagen AG

 

C.    Collection, Processing and Usage of Your Personal Data

I. Contact request
The data you provide when you submit a contact request shall be processed by us only for the purpose of processing your contact request. The data you submit shall be deleted at the latest two weeks after the request has been answered.

II. Ordering a voucher
When you order a voucher, you signal your intention to enter a contractual relationship with Volkswagen Driving Experience. Your request represents a contract initiation process (Article 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). We collect the following data: first name, last name, salutation, title, street, house number, postal code, city, email and date of birth. Your data are required in the course of the business relationship and are used by us to carry out correctly the activity described, for example to issue gift vouchers. The personal data processed in relation to ordering a voucher shall be deleted three years after the voucher has been redeemed, insofar as this is not in contravention of other retention periods (e.g. tax-related retention periods of six years for invoices).

III. Training and tours
When you submit a training and/or tour request, you signal your intention to enter a contractual relationship with Volkswagen Driving Experience. Your request represents a contract initiation process (Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR). We collect the following data: first name, last name, salutation, title, email. Your data are required in the course of the business relationship and are used by us to carry out correctly the activity described, for example to issue information material and reservation confirmations. In the event that a contract is not concluded, your personal data shall be deleted two weeks after they have been requested; personal data that arise in the course of fulfilling the contract shall be deleted after three years, whilst invoices shall be retained for six years in compliance with tax-related retention requirements.

 

D.     Your rights
You may exercise the rights listed below vis-à-vis Volkswagen AG at any time, at no cost. For further information concerning the exercise of your rights, please see section G.

Right of Access by the Data Subject: You shall have the right to receive information from us regarding the processing of your personal data.

Right to Rectification: You shall have the right to demand that we correct your personal data which are incorrect and/or incomplete.

Right to Erasure: You shall have the right, in the event that the requirements specified in Art. 17 of the GDPR have been met, to demand the deletion of your data. Thus, in accordance with this Article 17, for example, you may demand the deletion of your data insofar as these data are no longer required for the purposes for which they were collected.  Furthermore, you may demand the deletion of these data if we process your data based upon the consent which you have granted and you then withdraw this consent.

Right to Restriction of Processing: You shall have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your data if the requirements specified in Art. 18 of the GDPR have been fulfilled. This is, for example, the case if you dispute the correctness of your data. For the duration of the verification of the correctness of the data, you may demand the restriction of the processing.

Right to Object: If processing is based on an overriding legitimate interest or if your data is being used for purposes of direct marketing, you have the right to object to the processing of your data. An objection is permissible, if processing is either carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority or on account of a legitimate interest of Volkswagen AG or of a third party. In the event of an objection, we ask that you inform us of your reasons for objecting to the data processing. Further, you also have the right to object to data processing for the purpose of direct marketing. This also applies to profiling, if it is related to direct marketing.

Right to Data Portability: Insofar as the data processing is undertaken based upon a consent or a fulfilment of a contractual agreement and this is also undertaken while using an automated processing system, you shall have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonplace and machine-readable format and to transfer these data to another data processing service provider.

Right of Revocation: Insofar as the data processing is undertaken based upon a consent, you shall have the right to withdraw your consent for the data processing at any time, at no cost, with effect for the future, by using the following address: info-datenschutz@volkswagen.de or by using the contact data provided in the Imprint section.

Right to Complain: You shall also have the right to complain to a government supervisory authority (e.g. to the State Data Protection Officer for Lower Saxony, Germany) regarding our processing of your data
